We only let the world see fragments of who we really are.

We view ourselves differently than others see us.

 

Can you see me?

I can make you laugh while I'm crying inside.

I can love you with all of my heart and fear being alone.

I can demand respect while my knees tremble.

I can care for you while you weaken then let you pass onto your next journey.

I can be strong and enduring and my heart remains fragile.

I can be compassionate and kind among all the cruelity in the world.

I can share my spirit one word at a time.

Alone With My Thoughts

I think of times in the past where I have been less than a good person.

I think of mistakes I've made and hurt I've caused others.

I think of the important things.

Love

Honesty

Trust

Family

 Friendship

I've gotten better.

I've opened my heart and mind to many things I never thought possible.

If I just could forgive myself as easily as I forgive others.

It may be in the words, spoken or written.

In a handshake, a peircing look in someones eyes.

Written words that express pain so deep it grabs your heart and makes you feel the pain as well.

 

 

A touch that brings a chill down your spine.

A true evil presence that is not felt in the way you feel love, but a warning.

It is an uneasiness that takes you to the edge of panic.

 

 

Eyes that cut through you.

Blank, cold, expressionless.

 

 

A place that seems familiar but you have never visited before.

Our brains so complex, so astounding.

Maybe it's not our brain at all that triggers such gripping emotion.

There may be something beyond the five basic senses that we all have access to.

I have felt all of these things before.

I don't think I am alone.
